Writing Guidelines

The Journal of Intelligent Systems Technology and Informatics (JISTICS) publishes original research papers, reviews, technical notes, conceptual papers, and case studies in Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, and Informatics. Authors must prepare their manuscripts according to the following guidelines.

1. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be written in high-quality professional academic English.
  • The similarity index (plagiarism check) must not exceed 20%.
  • Manuscript length: 6–12 pages (including figures, tables, and references).
  • Page size: A4 (210 × 297 mm) with a two-column format.
  • Margins: Top 23 mm, Bottom 18 mm, Left 13 mm, and Right 13 mm. Spacing between columns: 7.1 mm.

2. Manuscript Structure

  • Title: Maximum 16 words, concise, and avoids unofficial abbreviations. Use Title Case.
  • Author(s) and Affiliation(s): Provide full names without academic titles. Affiliations must include department/institution and country. Provide the corresponding author’s email.
  • Abstract: A single paragraph of 200–250 words. It must strictly include: background, objectives, methods, key results, and conclusion.
  • Keywords: 4–8 keywords, capitalized, and separated by commas.
  • Main Sections:
    • Introduction: State research background, cite recent SOTA works, and identify the Research Gap and Novelty.
    • Methods: Provide a visual Research Framework (Flowchart/Diagram) and ensure reproducibility.
    • Results and Discussion: Present results with metrics and provide a Critical Comparison with previous studies.
    • Conclusion: Summarize findings, answer objectives, and mention limitations and future work.
  • Mandatory Sections: Acknowledgment, Conflicts of Interest, and Authors’ Contributions.

3. Formatting and Technical Rules

  • Font: Times New Roman (10 pt for body, 9 pt for abstract). Helvetica for headings and figure text.
  • Headings:
    • Level 1: Bold, Arabic numerals (e.g., 1. INTRODUCTION).
    • Level 2: Bold Italics, Arabic numerals (e.g., 1.1 Data Collection).
    • Level 3: Arabic numerals with right parenthesis (e.g., 2) Word Cloud Visualization).
  • Figures & Tables: Use Arabic numerals (Figure 1, Table 1). Captions: Figures (below, Helvetica 7 pt), Tables (above, Times New Roman 8 pt).
  • Equations: Use Equation Editor or LaTeX, consecutively numbered, and right-aligned.

4. References

  • Style: Strict adherence to the IEEE reference style.
  • Quantity: Minimum 15 references.
  • Quality: Min. 80% primary sources and min. 80% published within the last 5 years.
  • Management: Must use Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote with DOI included for each reference.

5. Submission

Authors must use the official JISTICS Template. Manuscripts not following the guidelines will be returned for correction before the review process begins.
