Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines (Summary)

The Journal of Intelligent Systems Technology and Informatics (JISTICS) publishes original research, reviews, technical notes, conceptual papers, and case studies in Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, and Informatics. Authors must follow these guidelines.

1. Manuscript Requirements

  • Language: English.
  • Manuscript length: 6–12 pages (including tables, figures, and references).
  • Format: A4, two-column layout.
  • Margins: Top 23 mm, Bottom 18 mm, Left 13 mm, and Right 13 mm.

2. Structure

  • Title: ≤ 16 words, avoid unofficial abbreviations. Use Title Case.
  • Author(s) & Affiliation(s): Full names, affiliations, and corresponding author email.
  • Abstract: 200–250 words (background, purpose, method, results, and conclusion).
  • Keywords: 4–8 terms.
  • Main sections: Introduction, Methods, Results & Discussion, and Conclusion.
  • Mandatory sections: Acknowledgment, Conflicts of Interest, Authors’ Contributions, and References.

3. Formatting

  • Font: Times New Roman for body (10 pt), abstract (9 pt); Helvetica for headings and figure text.
  • Headings (Arabic Numerals):
    • Level 1: Bold, Arabic numerals (e.g., 1. INTRODUCTION).
    • Level 2: Bold italics, Arabic numerals (e.g., 1.1 Data Collection).
    • Level 3: Arabic numbers with right parenthesis [e.g., 2) Word Cloud Visualization].
  • Figures: ≥ 300 ppi, numbered with Arabic numerals (e.g., Figure 1, Figure 2). Captions are placed below the figure.
  • Tables: Numbered with Arabic numerals (e.g., Table 1, Table 2). Captions are placed above the table.
  • Equations: Use Equation Editor, numbered consecutively, and right-aligned.

4. References

  • Style: IEEE style; cite in text as [1], [2], [3].
  • Quantity: Minimum 15 references.
  • Quality: ≥ 80% primary sources (journals/proceedings) and ≥ 80% from the last 5 years.
  • Management: Must use reference manager software (Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote). Mendeley is highly recommended.
  • DOI: A DOI must be included for each reference where available.

5. Other Rules & Submission

  • Plagiarism Check: Similarity index ≤ 20%.
  • Template: Authors must use the official JISTICS template for submission.
  • Peer Review: Double-blind peer review process.
  • Publication Fee: Accepted articles are subject to an Article Processing Charge (APC) as stated in the journal’s policy.
